PetroVietnam LNG Terminal : Trelleborg Lands Contract For Integrated Berthing System In Thi Vai LNG Terminal
Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure, an LNG Transfer Maritime equipment manufacturer in Sweden stated that they were supplying LNG transfer equipment, which includes marine fender systems, docking and mooring equipment, and ship-shore links to Thi Vai LNG Terminal of PetroVietnam located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Trelleborg Supplies Marine Cone Fenders
The agreement terms state that Trelleborg will supply four sets of their Super Cone Fenders that integrate the latest technology to increase performance. The Super Cone Fenders feature a conical shape that maintains stability despite large compression angles and also offers great shear strength. There are overload stops in the Super Cone Fenders that provide resistance to over-compression issues.
Docking And Mooring Equipments
Trelleborg is also set to provide docking and mooring equipment, which includes:
Quick Release Hooks (QRH)
These quick-release hooks allow mooring lines to be secured safely, quickly, and easily released. It is also a foundation for modern mooring systems.
Mooring Load Monitoring System
Provides mooring line tension status or warnings, allows substantial monitoring for best safety practices. It uses a load cell that is installed in quick-release hooks and a controller mounted at the base. The load cell senses mooring lines and transfers the data to the controller.
Docking Aid Systems
Using GPS and laser technologies to assist docking, meeting various berthing situations.
Ship Shore Link Systems
A system to assist LNG carriers in discharging or loading. It is also compatible with the major existing ship and shore systems.
Environmental Monitoring
A system that allows users to access environmental data such as MetOcean data.
With these implemented and operational, it will be able to capacitate imports of up to a million tonnes per annum and even more in the second phase of development. PetroVietnam also stated that the upgrades are used to meet international quality specifications and standards and there’s no doubt Trelleborg is the ideal partner to meet their ambitions in facilitating LNG supply in Vietnam.
